In Schonensche Straße in Berlin-Pankow, a site that was previously used for commercial purposes is being redeveloped into housing. The plan includes a six-story front building with an additional top floor, as well as a three-story garden building. In total, 140 apartments will be built, mainly compact two-room units with efficient layouts. The new buildings will be constructed using a resource-efficient timber hybrid system and aim to achieve DGNB Gold certification, supporting sustainable, forward-looking construction. Wood will be used extensively, especially in the garden building. The restrained color scheme creates a calm contrast to the lively surroundings and gives the development a clear, contemporary appearance. At the same time, the proportions, façade design, and building height ensure that it fits naturally into the existing neighborhood. Select color accents in the courtyard create a subtle connection to the surrounding area.
