Where Neukölln, Kreuzberg, and Treptow meet, a piece of Berlin’s history is coming back to life. The J.C. Pfaff furniture factory, built in 1907, is being carefully restored – keeping its industrial charm with distinctive brick facades and large window fronts. High vaulted ceilings give the rooms a special living atmosphere. Two new buildings fill the gaps left by the war and blend naturally into the cityscape. The ensemble will include 160 apartments. On the ground floor, 24 new commercial spaces will offer room for a lively neighborhood. Open access walkways invite people to stop and meet, and give residents an open view of the Landwehr Canal – a touch of tranquility in the middle of the big city.
