The urban design takes up the local pattern of small-scale buildings with pitched roofs. It transfers the internal organization of the cluster school into a clear external structure. The building form with a gable roof represents the individual learning units. Their orientation follows the ridge lines of the surrounding buildings. The roofscape reflects the slopes of the neighboring roofs and connects the volumes into one ensemble. The new building closes the existing building line along Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße in the south. It extends to the northeast into the schoolyard, which remains the central access space. In addition to the main entrance from the yard, there is a secondary entrance from the street. Small inner courtyards complement the large schoolyard and serve as outdoor classrooms. The construction combines solid structural elements with timber parts, which remain visible inside. The façade mixes punched windows, brick, and a yellow color scheme, with wood elements at the entrances.
